Garnet Hill

How could you not love a company with an image like this?

Garnet Hill started in 1976 in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and is still there today.  Garnet Hill was named for the rise of land behind the originator's (Grant and Pegge Dowse) home.  The company began selling flannel sheets from England and continued with the concept of natural fiber merchandise that is still offered in their product line today.

Garnet Hill offers a wide range of products in keeping the natural fiber philosophy throughout.  They offer everything from children's clothing . . .

To natural cotton kid's bedding

Garnet Hill offers natural clothing for women, such as the Piazza dress, easy to pack, easy to wear!

Cute summery sandals!

And a variety of great gifts for under $50!

Garnet Hill also offers great jewlery for the women in your life.  Better yet, they also offer free gift packaging and free standard shipping on all jewlery, every day!  What's better than that?

And one of my personal favorites - Frette bedding.  Once you've slept on it, nothing less will do!

If you don't have the budget for Frette, Garnet Hill offers several other great options - such as the Lilly Pulitzer collection

As well as the Eileen Fisher Home Collection

Or if you just need some great bedding basics!

Garnet Hill is also asking for your help by making a donation to the American Red Cross to aid the victims of the Japan earthquake and the Pacific tsunami.

Don't just take my word for it that Garnet Hill offers so many wonderful products, why don't you check it out for yourself!

Susan G. Komen for the Cure

This is an atypical post for me . . .  not a post about a birthday, a wedding or a new baby.  It is about the women who are waging a war every day, winning their battles and celebrating their fight against breast cancer.

This post isn't about a "registry" it is about a journey.  It is about supporting all of the women that are near and dear to us . . . our mothers, our sisters and our friends.  It is about all of the courageous women we know and the ones we haven't been honoured to meet.

Today, I was able to attend the Komen Race for the Cure with my son.  He is now aware what a great organization it is and learned how they raise awareness and more importantly raise money to help find a cure for a disease that affects so many women's lives.

There are several companies that donate proceeds from their sales to help support breast cancer care and prevention.

Another Company that offers 10% of their net proceeds on their Pink Ribbon Products to Susan G. Komen for the Cure is:

Riedel makes a donation in support of breast cancer organizations when you purchase the Crescendo Pink Wine Glasses

Kitchen Aid also supports Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  Kitchen Aid worked closely with Susan G. Komen for the Cure to develop Cook for the Cure.  When you purchase and register a pink product from the Kitchen Aid product line, they will donate up to $50.00 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Next time you shop online, don't forget to look for Pink Ribbon collections, to assist in supporting great organizations such as Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Or another great way to show your support for Susan G. Komen for the Cure is Race for the Cure - get out there and walk like we did today in support of our friend!

Hanna Andersson

Hanna Andersson has been a favorite of ours since Alec was a baby.  My theory is babies should be warm, cozy and comfortable.  What better company than Hanna Andersson to wrap you little one in?  Hanna Andersson's products are good quality pure cotton so they get better wash after wash!

Many of the products Hanna offers are made from organic cotton - especially many of their long johns.  They are a little more expensive than other national brands but they are so worth the extra money!  The long johns have a smooth feel and flat seams.  They seem to last and last!  Alec loved his Hanna's so much he was sad when he outgrew them, but being made of such high quality, we passed them to our neighbor's grandson who loves them as much as Alec did!

Hanna Andersson Long John's are perfect for the whole family!

In fact, their long johns are so great, Matt always said to Alec, "I wish I had a pair of those PJ's".  So last Christmas we got him his very own pair of Hanna Long Johns!  For our annual Thanksgiving PJ Breakfast we have with our neighbors he donned his Hanna's!

Hanna Andersson doesn't just offer long johns - they offer great baby essentials!

Soft, cuddly toys . . .

Hanna also offers a line called Very gud - offering the same Hanna high quality products at an affordable price.  The items in the Very gud line are their classic products that are offered year after year; this way they work with their suppliers to keep prices as low as possible, but still maintaining the quality you expect from Hanna.

Hanna also offers great dresses for girls . . .

As well as swim shorts and shorts for boys . . .

Hanna didn't forget about mom either - their Women's dresses are so cute and comfortable!

as well as hair accessories and hats for girls . . . .

Actually, Hanna offers a little bit of something for everyone in the family!
